Plant Pro Operator Certificate/On-Site Training.

The Plant Pro Operator Certificate is awarded following completion of one of our on-site training courses, as evidence that the operator is plant proficient.  These courses are cost-effective, flexible and a valuable training tool which can be held at sites and workplaces in Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and the South East or at our centre in Billingshurst. Our on-site courses are produced and delivered by operators and trainers/testers who hold the skills, experience and knowledge needed to train the delegates correctly.

Delivering high levels of training in operational competence, as well as an understanding of safety-critical operation, are ensured.

We cover the following elements during every on-site training course:

  • General site safety, the basics of Health & Safety and what needs to be known to comply with industry legislation and regulations.

  • Pre-use inspection of work equipment whilst demonstrating efficient, detailed methods.

  • Approved methods and operating techniques for the use of equipment, whilst complying with manufacturer guidance and requirements.

  • Instruction and guidance of safe approval methods whilst shutting down and securing equipment at the end of a shift.

Each course includes a required theory and practical assessment to ensure a correct level of competence and knowledge is achieved. On passing the course the Plant Pro Letter of Achievement is awarded along with a card designed to be kept in a wallet or purse. The certification is valid for either a 2 or 5-year period depending on level of experience and can be renewed by assessment.

On-site training courses are essential in helping individuals to understand the importance of safety in the workplace. Examples of when they may be suitable are shown here:

  • Smaller building/construction companies and sole traders may choose in-house training courses to demonstrate their workforce’s competence and safety awareness as well as their own diligence in ensuring a trained workforce is employed on a job.

  • On-site training is a great way to refresh an operator’s skills. This might be after a career break from the industry or time spent operating a different item of plant.

  • An operator may want to improve his CV for potential employers by adding skills for different machinery. This is a cost-effective way of demonstrating a level of competence on that new machinery.
